Copenhagen and A Love for Soren

Copenhagen and A Love for Soren

I think Copenhagen was my favorite visit in Europe, which is surprising because it was the place that I was least interested in visiting. But one day while I was sitting in London I noticed a flight for the next day going for 33 Pounds. But what’s in Copenhagen? Well… Kierkegaard was from there…

Soren Kierkegaard is the founder of modern existential philosophy, and though I am not a fan of his  writings (I find them very long and ecstatic), I have definitely loved analyzing Kierkegaard’s psyche. A flamboyant man convinced he would die in his early 30’s and desperately in love with a woman named Regina, whom he would not allow himself  to marry… come on. The man was the perfect nutcase, so I thought, “what would his city be like?” I bought my ticket and went.

… and…

COPENHAGEN WAS AWESOME.

Honestly, it was like a mini, high-tech version of Canada, with a lot more white people.

The following is a list of why I loved Copenhagen.

  1. Bike Friendly Nation.

Yes. I am a bike fanatic. And I loved they are too. Here is a piece of writing a found in the Museum of Design and encapsulated my feelings perfectly.

2. I could feel Soren’s psychotic nature in the air. No really, haha. I went to the theater (at least I think it was the right one) where he allegedly loitered to make Regina think he had a life after he broke up with her. A big highlight for me in the trip… yes you can call me crazy.

3. The chocolate. SO GOOD. Also I had the best vegetarian food in Denmark. Huge plus.

4. Fun Accommodations. My little Hotel room was humorously small, and the transportation is awesomely futuristic. Check it out in my SnapChat story below!

5. Organic and beautiful architecture and scenery.

Honestly the canals and churches were fabulous.

And ya. I honestly have nothing bad to say about Copenhagen at all, and from the picture heavy post I hope you can tell that I loved this city. I definitely recommend it. It has the aesthetic spunk, a laid back and sophisticated population and just a lot of threads to keep the intellectually curious and modern-art admirers fascinated. A++ from me!
